See why families love the three-row 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander

Here at South Suburban Mitsubishi, located in Matteson, the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander is our most well-stocked model, but this comes as no surprise. Thanks to an attractive price tag, seating for seven, list of features, and excellent warranty, the Outlander is a great pick for families who need a capable vehicle for all their adventures.

Interior Space and Engines

Whether you have a large family, or your mainly use the third-row for the occasional car pool rotation, you'll have enough seats for everyone. With all rows up there is 10.3 cubic feet of cargo space, with the third-row down there is 34.2 cubic feet, and if you need to fill up the entire back there's 63.3 cubic feet of maximum cargo space.

All trims except the top level have a 2.4L engine with 166 horsepower and 162 lb-ft torque. The second engine is a 3.0L with 224 horsepower, which we think is best suited for drivers who plan on having a full car and need the extra power to drive and pass with confidence in busy places, like downtown Chicago.

Standard Features and Available Highlights

There are five trims (ES, SE, LE, SEL, and GT) and all come equipped with the following features: a leather-wrapped steering wheel for a touch a refinement, rearview camera, voice control technology, Bluetooth, and a 7-inch touchscreen.  If you're on a budget (or prefer to keep your list of tech features on the lean side), the base level is worth considering.

As you move up there are plenty of additional amenities that make the Outlander a competitive option. In addition to the standard touchscreen, starting at the SE trim you'll get Apple CarPlayâ„¢ and Android Autoâ„¢ smartphone integrations that display familiar icons and lessen any infotainment learning curves. We also think you'll love the power liftgate and folding mirrors, leather seats (available starting at the SEL), and premium audio system by Fosgate. If your family regularly takes long drives we suggest going with the GT trim and adding on the rear seat entertainment to help keep backseat passengers content...and quiet!

Safety Features

Because this is a family-focused vehicle, Mitsubishi made sure to include advanced safety features. Depending on what trim you choose you can get blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and a forward collision system that can apply emergency braking if necessary.
